9 things to do in Milwaukee this weekend: April 8-10

1. Terrarium Workshop of the Urban Ecology Center

FRIDAY AT 4 PM | MENOMONEE VALLEY URBAN ECOLOGY CENTER

Create your own ecosystem of greenery and plants with this excursion. Hosted by the Urban Ecology Center, tickets range from $9 to $14 and include all the supplies needed to create your own terrarium. 2. Dog day in the deer district

SATURDAY FROM 9AM-2PM | DEER DISTRICT PLAZA

This event is presented by Winston’s Wishes and Central Bark Downtown. Expect local vendors, shows, prizes, and four-legged friends of all sizes (on a leash, of course). Proceeds from the event will benefit the rescue and the dogs they shelter until they can find their forever home.

3. WMSE’s Rockabilly Chile Fundraiser

SATURDAY FROM 11AM-4PM | MSOE KERN CENTER

Can you stand the heat? WMSE Radio’s annual Rockabilly Chili fundraiser returns this weekend with over 30 different chilies from Milwaukee. Fundraiser attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the best single meat, hot, vegetable and chili of the show. Advance tickets are on sale for $15 and tickets at the door are $20. Tickets are available in lineand each ticket includes 4 chilli samples.

4. JK Lee’s Great Midwestern Champions Tournament

SATURDAY FROM 9AM-5PM | BROOKFIELD EAST HIGH SCHOOL

The largest tournament of its kind in the Midwest, this event will host over 1,000 marriage performers of varying ages. The event is open to the public and will feature a professional demonstration by martial arts masters at 12:30 p.m. The event also includes a Board Break competition and fundraising through the Red Cross for Ukrainian refugees.

5. Milwaukee Makers Market – Celebrate MKE Day

SUNDAY FROM 10AM-4PM | WORLD DISCOVERY MUSEUM

Join these local makers and celebrate Milwaukee at this Makers Market. The market is free to the public and will feature stained glass @coolafglasscrochet creations from @littlewomancreations and foodie favourites, such as those of @heirloom.mke. 6. Bayshore Bunny Hop and Egg Hunt

SATURDAY AT 1 PM | THE BAYSHORE SITE

Head to Bayshore this weekend for fun, free and festive Easter activities. The egg hunt will begin at 1.30pm with one lucky duck having the opportunity to find the golden egg, containing a certificate for Kilwins ice cream for a year! While you’re there, be sure to snap a photo with the Easter Bunny as well.

7. Del Amitri

SATURDAYS AT 3 AND 8 P.M. | ROD ROOM

The “Roll To Me” performers are in Milwaukee this weekend to perform two shows at Shank Hall. Their new album “Fatal Mistakes” is out this Friday, April 8. The 8 p.m. show is sold out, but seats are still available from $35 for the 3 p.m. show.

8. Haiku Slam and Poetry Showcase

SATURDAY AT 1 PM | WOOD PATTERN BOOK CENTER, INC.

Do you have a way of saying it in words? This event, hosted by the haiku poet “Honey” Nikki Janzen, is open to everyone, whether you’re a participating goldsmith or just a keen eye. Individuals interested in performing their work must Register in advance.

9. JoJo: The JoJo Tour

FRIDAY AT 8 PM | THE RAVE CLUB/EAGLES

the “Too little, too late” the singer will hopefully be on time when she takes the stage at The Rave this Friday night. JoJo’s tour setlist is sure to include songs from her previous discography as well as tracks from her latest album “Trying Not to Think About it.” The show is open to all ages and general admission tickets are available starting at around $26.
