Labor will help households and businesses store batteries for solar power
Tasmanian work
A majority Labor government
set aside $ 20 million to fund loans of up to $ 15,000 for people to buy
batteries and solar for their homes.
Union leader Rebecca White said
the policy would correct the Liberals’ failures on feed-in tariffs and help solar power
owners keep the value of their investment.
“The solar owners have been
abandoned by the liberals and saw the value of their investments plummet
after the feed-in tariff reduction, ”Ms. White said.
“The controversial new ‘solar’
tax ” proposed by the Australian Energy Market Commission
the value of the purchase tariffs with the people to be invoiced for the export
solar power to the grid.
“Due to changes in the
national electricity market, it is now impossible to simply restore the
previous tariffs and the only solution is battery storage.
“Battery storage is the
the equivalent of receiving a purchase price equal to the retail price charged by
Dawn.
“Work will make it uninteresting
loans offered to households and businesses up to a value of $ 15,000
battery storage installation or solar installation. “
Ms White said the loans would
over ten years, without interest for the first three years, then low interest
for the other seven.
“Tasmanians need to feel safe
in their solar investment and under the liberals, this was not the case.
“This funding will help ensure
Tasmanians see a return on their solar investment, which is both beneficial for
them and the environment.
“While Labor scrambles to bring down electricity prices, Peter Gutwein and the Liberals will go their separate ways and privatize Hydro.
“Only the Labor Party is working for the Tasmanians to create a better and fairer state.”
