Olam Appoints Shailendra Mishra as Head of Climate, Environment and Natural Capital | News | Eco-Enterprise

Olam has appointed conservation and ecology specialist Dr. Shailendra Mishra to lead climate, environment and natural capital.

Mishra joins the Singapore-based agribusiness after more than four years at the Asian School of Environment in Singapore, where he worked as a nature-based solutions specialist for various systems, including agriculture.

Mishra assumes the leadership role of Olam Group’s global corporate environmental sustainability strategy, which includes climate action, regenerative agriculture and ecosystems workflows.

During his career, Mishra worked as a researcher at Nanyang Technological University and was a postdoctoral researcher at the Singapore Center for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering and the NUS Environmental Research Institute.

Among Mishra’s most recent scientific papers was a review of the state of Southeast Asian peatlands and the best ways to manage and restore them.

Mishra holds a PhD from the National University of Singapore on Ecological Drivers of Tropical Peatland Oxidation and Causes of Peatland Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
