Plant and Pest Clinic hours of operation are 9 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Thursdays. Or call or drop by between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays to ask questions or drop off samples.

Wednesdays in the garden –

Clematis

When: 6 p.m. September 28

What: Clematis is known as one of the most versatile and beautiful vines for the garden or landscape. Learn how to develop them to their full potential. Dress for the weather and bring a lawn chair.

Naturalist Series – Aquatic Invasive Species in Ohio

When: 6:30 p.m. on September 29

What: A discussion of aquatic invasive species that have invaded Ohio, including history, regulatory/management framework, and ways volunteers can help fight biological invasions.

Naturalist Series: The Many Lives of Lichens

When: 6:30 p.m. on October 20

What: Jim Chatfield, Associate Professor and Extension Specialist, will discuss lichen life, including multi-kingdom partnerships; when mushrooms became farmers; bioremediation; manna from heaven; caribou cooking; natural dyes; antibiotics; and the mysteries and beauties of lichen life.

Naturalist Series: Wild Mushroom Hunting in Eastern Ohio

When: 6:30 p.m. on November 17

What: Erika Lyon, Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator, Jefferson and Harrison Counties, will cover mushroom ecology and identification as well as the basics of wild mushroom hunting. It will also cover common mushrooms found in Eastern Ohio.
